Oatmeal and honey make everything healthy. Who am I kidding, maybe that’s not entirely true, but these delicious cookies are just too hard to resist. While you’re enjoying the mouth-watering taste of these treats warm out of the oven, just repeat to yourself, “It has oatmeal and honey, so its good for me.”. Works for me! 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup shortening 1 egg 1/2 cup honey 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup quick rolled oats 6 ounces chocolate chunks Directions: Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and vanilla and mix until blended. In a seperate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, soda, and oats. Stir well to combine. Slowly mix in flour mixture to creamed mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chunks. To bake, drop by rounded teaspoons on light greased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cake mixes make the best cookies! These soft cookies have wonderful flavor of vanilla and chocolate. Place left overs in air tight container. The best thing about these cookies is that they are very easy to make and budget friendly. 1 Vanilla Cake Mix 1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil 2 Large eggs – slightly beaten 1 Tablespoon water 1 whole vanilla bean 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips Sugar Place first 4 ingredients in mixing bowl. Slice vanilla bean down the center and scrap out seeds and add to mixture. Mix until just blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Roll dough into 2 inch balls and roll in sugar. These cookies will be a big hit with your family. Who doesn’t love chocolate? What I like most about them is that they are made from simple ingredients that I usually have on hand. Try them and see how fast they disappear at your house! 1 box chocolate cake mix 1/3 cup canola oil 2 large eggs 1 Tablespoon Water 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips sugar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first 4 ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Measure each cookie by heaping teaspoons and roll into balls and then roll in sugar or confectioners sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 2 minutes on pan. These toasties are wonderful whether you are having a party or just a craving! They are quick and simple to make and you can refrigerate and reheat leftovers…if there are any. 4 whole wheat hoagie or 1 baguette 2 Tablespoons butter 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green or red bell pepper 1/2 cup grated zucchini squash 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 box chopped frozen spinach (thawed and squeezed dry) 8 oz low fat cream cheese (softened) Cut hoagie buns in half length wise and toast in a 375 degree oven for 5-8 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside. In a skillet, melt butter and add onion, bell pepper, zucchini, salt and garlic powder. Saute over medium heat until vegetables are done. Add spinach and cook another minute, just till spinach is heated through. Cool. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until for 30 seconds, add spinach mixture and mix until just combined. 8 hard boiled eggs 1 Tablespoon chopped bread and butter pickles 1 teaspoon deli-style mustard 1 teaspoon finely chopped mild sweet onion 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black or white pepper 1/4 cup mayonnaise Paprika (for garnish if desired) Peel, rinse and slice in half lengthwise 8 hard boiled eggs.
